Despite the name of the program, it converts PDF documents into image files in multiple formats, namely JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, PCX and TGA. The program supports batch conversion, so that you can convert many PDF files into your desired format at once, either using the graphical interface or the command-line mode, which is also supported.

With regard to its graphical interface, the program is rather intuitive and self-explanatory, and you don't need any special skill to use it successfully. You can add any number of source files in PDF format, which are listed with their respective sizes and number of pages. By default, all the pages in your source documents will be converted, but you can alternatively specify a page range for each source file on your list. Then you can select your output format among those mentioned above, the output resolution (in pixels per inch), the rotation angle an sense, the colors scheme (true colors or white&black), and the output folder. All that rests now is to click on a button to start the process.

I have to say that the program provides very good conversion speeds, being able to convert thousands of source PDF pages in just a couple of minutes, with a satisfactory quality. In addition, this tool does its job without requiring any third-party tools, like Adobe Reader or so. If you prefer command-line interfaces, the publishers provide you with a very detailed manual that allows you to get familiar with the program's multiple options in no time. By the way, this mode is specially devoted to batch conversions, as it allows you to convert thousands of PDF files into image formats with a very little effort, even password-protected ones.

In a nutshell, I would say that PDF to JPG is an excellent option if you just require a fast and simple way to convert PDF documents into image files. However, if you require more advanced options, like adjusting the specific parameters of the supported output formats, surely you will need to keep looking for another tool. Also, the program only allows you to specify a single output configuration for all your source files. Starting on this version, the trial version of the program converts any number of source PDF pages, but a watermark is added to all the resulting files.
